Meet the Tutors

We couldn't offer tutoring to our students without our team of volunteer tutors. These high schools students dedicate their time to help out younger students in their core subjects -- anything from a short assignment or a new concept. Already connected to a tutor? Great! Cara P., Junior

Tutors in: 6th-8th Math, Math 2, 6th-8th ELA

Cara Pielow is a student at ECG. She has previously tutored with the Educate US club at local middle schools and is planning to continue this year. Some of Cara's hobbies include art, listening to music, and playing video games. She thinks tutoring will be a great opportunity to help others and learn new things herself.

Lahari P., Sophomore

Tutors in: 6th-8th Math, Math 1, Math 2, 6th-8th ELA, 6th-8th Science, 6th-8th Social Studies

Lahari is a dedicated, kind, creative, and persistent person. She has had experience with creating her own tutoring program in middle school to help elementary students meet grade level standards. In addition to this, Taekwondo has also been a big part of her life. There, Lahari teaches young kids their learning curriculum. When a student isn’t catching on to what is being taught, she believes that it is often because the material needs to be taught in a more engaging way, personal to the student’s learning style. Lahari will help kids love to learn and make the best of the situation we find ourselves in today.

Meredith P., Freshman

Meredith is a freshman in high school. She likes to read books and craft. She tutored throughout middle school to peers and younger students. She wants to tutor because she loves learning and knows individualized support is very helpful for academic growth.

Jaido R., Junior

Jaido is a student at the Early College at Guilford. He enjoys helping fellow students of any age through their learning difficulties and has tutored younger students and helped them understand their subjects. He enjoys creating digital art, finding and listening to new music, and playing video games in his free time.

Arya R., Senior

Tutors in: 6th-8th Math, Math 1, Math 2

Arya is an Indian Classical dancer; she has been learning for over 10 years. Along with Dance, she loves visual and musical arts and also plays volleyball. She has been in the Educate US club for two years and has helped with math tutoring before. Arya has had experience teaching classrooms with children of different ages and feels that she is able to connect with people easily and help them understand what they have in front of them.

Noelani S., Sophomore

Noelani loves helping people, especially her classmates, family, and friends. As a volunteer and dedicated student, she strives to assist the community and bring light to peoples' days. She has worked with many students and kids over her lifetime and enjoys getting to know them. Noelani loves to draw, listen to music, and play video games.
